On 22 and 23 March 1993 over 100 Russian Floggers (24 MiG-23UBs and 87 MiG-27s) were withdrawn from East Germany. On the first day the MiGs at Finterswalde and Grossenhain left.

MiG-27D '17' of 296 ABIP (Fighter-bomber Aviation Regiment) taxies to the runway of Grossenhain for the last time. Spotters and photographers were not officially allowed on this base, but no one stood in our way when we climbed the fences and stood along the taxiway and on an alert shelter.
