Canvas Cossack Mamay of unknown author. 19 century. Canvas, oil. 70 x 155. In the painting a banduryst is depicted at the foreground, while in the background Haidamakas are killing two Jews-usurers in the forest: one is being hung by his heels on a tree, while the other one is being brought in by his beard. The second Jew-usurer, who's being captured in the forest by Haidamakas, says to the banduryst: "Mercy, pan Mamay, I don't have a penny of money", to which banduryst gives an answer that "I need none of your money, for those like you, the only salvation is heaven!"
