More than 200 boys and girls between 12 and 17 years aof age, the first batch of young Jewish refugees from Germany for whom new homes have been promised in Britain, arrived at Harwich from the Hook of Holland an then went to a holiday camp at Dovercourt, near Harwich, where they are to be accomodated for two or three weeks. The children, who are to be supported by voluntary contributions and not public funds, will be sheltered by British families, educated and taught trades and will then emigrate to British possessions. The party of children is drawn mainly from Berlin and Hamburg.
Hospitality for 5.000 children refugees is planned.
